As I celebrated a recent birthday I decided it was time for me to discuss my age and how fitness makes me feel younger. Getting older doesn't have to mean slowing down and falling apart. Nothing feels as good as feeling good no matter what your age. I am talking about my age now because I want to inspire others to be the best they can be whatever their age. It can do the same for you as long as you take that first step. Why not be the best we can and enjoy life to its fullest? In this video I tell my personal anti-aging strategies (tongue-in-cheek)

Delicious Turkey Chili Recipe

mmmm.... Turkey Chili

This recipe is one that I go to over and over. I call it a T.H.E. go-to because it is  Tasty, Healthy, and Easy.  I love to make this low calorie, healthy chili when the weather is cold. I make a big pot (have even doubled the 20-serving recipe) and freeze many smaller portions so it is always on hand.


I have been making this recipe for years.  I originally got this recipe from weight watchers (it's one point per serving). Following the recipe makes 20 servings.

Waiting for--Someday?

Like the old song "Someday my prince will come", many of us waste too much of our time waiting for our "Someday". The time is now to take the first step. "Someday" will not come unless you go after it.

So ....Have you ever bought an article of clothing that was really too small or just a little snug in all the WRONG places? These are the "someday" outfits that sometimes end up spending years in the back of our closet. The intention is that "someday after I lose 10 pounds" or "someday when there are a few less tugs on the fabric" or "someday it will hang straight over that area and look better".
So...that article of clothing hangs in a dark corner of the closet waiting for that "someday". Sometimes we revisit those clothes and "someday" isn't here yet. Sometimes those clothes never see the light, still waiting for that "someday".

My Personal review of Beachbody fitness programs:

One of the biggest factors to determine if you will stay with your commitment to a workout is if fits your interest and fitness level. If you are looking for a fitness program Beachbody is the place to look. There is variety here to suit everyone’s taste.

First I would like to say that what I learned about fitness years ago as a PE major is still true. That is, a well-balanced fitness program contains four elements: cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility.
